Business with the Breath of Heaven

By Aaron Jones

This morning, as I spent time hanging out with the Holy Spirit, I found myself inviting Him into the core areas of my life—into business, finance, friendship, and marriage.

Then I caught myself. I thought, “No, I don’t just want you to be my partner… I want you to be the senior partner.” And then the deeper truth surfaced in my heart: “Lord, I want to be your partner in all of this.”

As I thought about some current projects and life situations, I could see His hand reaching out over them, and I heard Him speak peace. In that stillness, I witnessed our hearts shift—ready to host His presence again, our ears opening to hear His voice and receive His wisdom.

“Lord, pour out your Spirit on our lives and bless us. Reveal your path so we can walk in it, led by you. Connect us with ideas and acquaintances that unfold into your blessed plan.”

The Beauty of Surrender

This is what I mean when I say we need to surrender to and depend on the Holy Spirit. When we ascribe real value to His influence over the things that matter most—our marriage, our children, our businesses, and the hidden treasures of our hearts—we begin to taste the kind of life, joy, refreshment, and purity that only He can bring.

Yes, it’s risky. We have to let go of control and accept His kind of leadership, which often breaks the mold and takes us “out of the box.” But in time, we’ll see for ourselves the truth of this heavenly wisdom:

“Even the foolishness of God is wiser than the wisdom of men, and the weakness of God is stronger than the strength of men.” (1 Corinthians 1:25)

King David once said, “God, your gentleness has made me great.” And it’s still true. His gentle strength transforms us. He is entirely worthy of our trust. Of this, there can be no doubt.

May we learn to lean into His presence—not just in moments of crisis, but as our daily rhythm. The Holy Spirit isn’t a distant help; He is a faithful friend, a wise counselor, and the Senior Partner our hearts were made for.
