Why I Pray — Living from Heaven’s Ecosystem

By Aaron Jones

Why do I pray? I pray because God hears me.

“The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers.” (1 Peter 3:12)

“We have become the righteousness of God through Jesus Christ.” (2 Corinthians 5:21)

“This is the confidence we have in Him: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of Him.” (1 John 5:14–15)

What an incentive! You don’t have to be good at prayer, just talk to Him and find His promises in His Word so you know what His will is. Then just ask and expect change. You will definitely be surprised with how your life will change. I know my life is dramatically different since I began to pray and talk to God.

Faith That Receives

I think the three major components of faith that receives from God are;
  1. He is able – All things are possible with Him.
  2. He is willing – He is good and desires to bless.
  3. He is present – He will never leave or forsake us. Nothing can separate us from His love.

These beliefs help me filter my experience when I am in the midst of opposition, changing my perspective from an event based belief system to a kingdom environment belief system. I mean I believe I’ve been translated out of the kingdom of darkness where I was subject to intellectual observations, into the kingdom of His Son where I now live in Christ, reigning in life by receiving the abundance of His grace and the free gift of His righteousness. I am sustained by an ecosystem of life!

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” (John 10:10) “In Him we live and move and have our being.” (Acts 17:28)
